Chase is not looking back; Tim Tszyu is determined to create the greatest family legacy in boxing history after earning the opportunity to follow in his legendary father’s footsteps as a unified world champion. The Australian fighter will face off against Sebastian Fundora in his highly anticipated Las Vegas debut, with the chance to add the WBC super-welterweight belt to the WBO title he already holds.

The Tszyu-Thurman bout was initially set to be a non-title fight, but a last-minute change of opponent has elevated the stakes for the upcoming March 30 event. Tszyu will not have to defend his WBO title in the bout against Fundora, as the fight will take place at 155 pounds, one pound above the traditional super-welterweight limit.

Despite the unexpected change in opponent, Tszyu remains unfazed and fully focused on the opportunity at hand. “I’m fighting for the WBC and WBO at the same arena on the same platform,” Tszyu stated during a video call from the US. “There was no hesitation. There was no reason for me to back out. I fear no man. I know I’m the best at 154.”

This dream opportunity comes 25 years after Kostya Tszyu, Tim’s father, secured the WBC super-lightweight title in Miami. Tim Tszyu expressed his excitement at the prospect of a unification bout, stating that it is rare in boxing and that it is the next goal in his career. “We’re talking about the greatest boxing families to ever set foot on this earth,” Tszyu added.

Team Tszyu had to quickly find a replacement for the injured Keith Thurman, who had to withdraw from the fight due to a biceps injury. Sebastian Fundora, known as the ‘Towering Inferno’, will now be facing Tszyu in what promises to be an intriguing matchup. Fundora, standing at 197cm tall, presents a unique challenge for Tszyu, but the Australian fighter is ready to take on the task.

Following a series of setbacks and opponent changes, Tszyu remains focused and determined to make a mark in the boxing world. Despite previous fights being postponed or canceled, Tszyu has stayed committed to his goal of becoming a unified world champion. The upcoming bout against Fundora is another step towards achieving that dream.

With his eyes set on creating a legacy that rivals his father’s storied career, Tim Tszyu continues to chase his unified world title dream in Vegas. As he prepares to step into the ring on March 30, the Australian fighter is ready to showcase his skills and prove that he belongs among boxing’s elite.
